Weekend Roundup

The Fourth eleven started off the weekend with a bang setting Todmorden a brilliant 226/1 off their 40 overs. Young Joe Edgar hit the first ever Fourth eleven century with 108 off 129 balls featuring 17 fours (and his brother got one for Padiham!). Aden Aurangzeb hit 53 off 63 and Braiden Watson was the only man out on 36. In reply Tod we’re 188/9 off their 40. Aden also starred with the ball taking 4 for 33 off 7.

The first eleven took on Walsden at home in the first game of the season. Walsden won the toss and decided to bat, making 100/0 off their first 25 overs. House reigned in the run rate and managed to pick up wickets along the way. A late spurt saw Walsden make 233 for 9 off their 50. Pro Stephen took 4, Paddy 2 and 3 run outs. In reply House we’re 194 all out with 2 balls remaining in a steady chase taking 3 points, nearly every batter got a start, but lost wickets at regular intervals. Charlie top scored with 42.

The second team got their first win of the season in impressive fashion away at Walsden. Walsden won the toss and batted, bowled out for 191 with Thomas Halstead, Matt Hope and Keagan De Vries all taking 3 wickets. In reply Haggers top scored with a great 83, helped by 41 from Jack Simm. House knocked them off 4 down off 41.3 overs to take 10 points.
