Weekend Roundup

The First team got their Twenty20 campaign off to winning ways on Friday night away at Great Harwood. Lowerhouse batted first, making 142/3 off their 20. Pro Nasir Nawaz top scored with 67. In reply Great Harwood managed 118/5 off their 20, Toxy and Joey took 2 wickets a piece.

The First team beat local rivals Burnley in the second round of the Worsley Cup, securing a place in the quarter finals. Ben won the toss and batted first, making 174/7 off our 50, a good recovery after being 1/2 and 18/3. Pro Ian Holland scored 68 whilst Charlie and Dean scored 30 a piece. House bowled Burnley out for 112 off 36.5 overs with Joey and pro taking 3 a piece.

The seconds also progressed in the cup away at Rishton. Rishton won the toss and batted and were bowled out for 165. Charlie Bithell bowled well with 5 for 36 off 8.2. In reply, House took 48.5 overs to knock them off for the loss of 7 wickets. Joel Sharpe top scored with 40, Finchy made 30 and Tom Yorke-Robinson 34.

Sunday saw two defeats for the senior teams.

The firsts lost out to Todmorden at home after winning the toss and bowling. Tod scored 256/7 with their pro scoring an unbeaten century. Ben Heap took 3 wickets. In reply, many batters got starts in a solid chase but lost wickets at regular intervals. We were bowled out with a ball to spare on 217. Charlie scored 36. Frankie and Joey scored 35 and Pro Ian Holland 33.

The second team at Enfield lost the toss and fielded bowling Enfield out for 155 off 43.4 overs. Matt Hope got another 4 wickets. In reply House we’re 107 all out of 39.4 overs, Dec Metcalfe top scoring with 28 not out.
