On Saturday Lowerhouse won the Ron Singleton trophy, by beating Burnley at Turf Moor this afternoon.

In reply, some tight bowling saw Burnley get off to a slow start and we’re tied down throughout the innings. Tom Walker continued his fine start as a Houser with 5 wickets for 16 off 8 overs, securing the trophy bowling Burnley out for 77.

House bowled Ramsbottom out for 148 in the last over, with Ben Heap taking 4 wickets (passing 50 League wickets) and Paddy taking 3 (passing 300 league wickets) and a great run out from Tom Walker. Runs were hard to come by in reply with Ramsbottom turning to spin, but captain Ben stood strong and steadied the reply whilst wickets were falling around him.Ben was out on 47 with the score at 73/6. House were staring down the barrel with their pro and Fielding bowling tight and getting through the overs quick. Enter Henri Cottam and Tom on debut, who batted with grit and determination and took the score to 99, running quick between the wickets. Two quick wickets losing Henri and Blez saw 50 needed with 2 wickets left. Joey Hawke came to the crease and added 50 with Tom, and saw the lads home with 3 balls to spare, rounding off a great weekend for the firsts.
