Weekend Roundup – Finals day for Firsts
A mixed bag of results this weekend. The first team had a triple header in the boiling sun.
Friday saw the First Eleven secure their place in the Twenty20 finals day at Rochdale by beating Todmorden at home. Ben won the toss and batted first, and batted relentlessly with Pro Stephen Parry, both scoring 74 and 72 respectively. House finished on 176 for 5 off their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Todmorden were with the rate all innings long, with dangerman Pro Will Bostito scoring 79, but House managed to keep taking wickets at regular intervals, with Tom getting 3, Paddy 2 and Ben 2. Todmorden finished 156 for 9 off their 20.
On Saturday, the Second team kept up their great form in the league with a 9 wicket win against Walsden. House bowled Walsden out for 130. Finchy and Keagan took 3 a piece and Matt and Oli Williams 2. House knocked them off 1 down with Finchy scoring 60, Dec Metcalfe 31 and Haggers the only man out on 28.
On Saturday, the Firsts fell to Walsden away. After having them 83/6, Walsden batter Joe Gale teed off and scored 141 from 114 balls taking them to 247 for 8 off their 50. Pro Stephen Parry took 4 wickets. In reply House were all out for 160, with Stephen scoring 69.
The Firsts and Second s were knocked out of their respective Semi Finals on Sunday.
The Seconds at home were 126 all out, Haggers top scoring with 25. Great Harwood knocked them off 5 down after 34.1 overs.
The First eleven played away at Ramsbottom. House scored 209/6 batting first, with Charlie (54) and Dean Barlow (48) battling in the middle overs and put on a century partnership. In reply, one man show Kieron Grimshaw had the innings of his life scoring 124 and not really giving a chance in the process. Ramsbottom knocked them off with 16 balls to spare.
The Third team lost at Haslingden on Sunday. House were all out for 91 chasing Haslingdens 187/8.
