Weekend Roundup – Tie and Thirds Top

Friday night saw the first stab at the Quarter Finals of the Twenty20 competition – all 4 matches were called off at half time, with a huge downpour hitting after 7pm. Matches will be replayed this Friday – see our other posts for more details.

On Saturday, the First Eleven tied, in an action packed game at home to Ramsbottom. House were bowled out for 109 off 47.5 overs. Dean Barlow top scored with 27 and Ben 23. In reply, House took wickets at regular intervals with Stephen Parry taking 5 for 40 off 14 and Paddy Martin 5 for 41 off 11.5, including a fabulous caught and bowled to save the game, with both teams taking 9 points each.

The Second Eleven lost out to Ramsbottom away, after also being bowled out for 109, chasing Ramsbottoms 257/8. Tom Yorke-Robinson hit a valiant 41. Captain Matt Hope took 4 wickets continuing his great season with the ball.

Another win for the Third Eleven on Sunday saw them top their league! House made 185/8 off a rain reduced 34 overs. Declan Metcalfe scored another half century with 61 off 93 balls, Elliot Johnstone also added 47 as the pair put on 117 opening up. House bowled Rishton out for 135 with Ky-Mani Cain taking 3 wickets and Robson 2.
