Weekend Teams – Joe Halstead sets new record!

Joseph Halstead becomes the youngest player to be selected for Lowerhouse 1XI at 14 years 8 months and 12 days just sneaking in under max Howells 2007 record of 14 years and 10 months .

Lowerhouse Cricket Chairman Stan Heaton said ” This has been a great season of opportunity throughout the club . At times we have had as many as 13 players unavailable for the Seniors through injury, exams, and holidays. Dec Bailey and Ben Gorton have both come into the first team and acquitted themselves well but unfortunately they too have been hit by lengthy injuries. Four juniors including Joseph have debuted this season in the 2XI, performed well and stayed in. Joseph has done very well and whilst there were other candidates from the Seconds, Joseph fits the bill for what we need on Saturday. He represents the County under 14s on Sunday .”
