Weekly Update – Lowerhouse Cricket Club

Sharon Stansfield and Lisa Howorth are raising funds for a wonderful cause close to their hearts, Pendleside Hospice.
The Hospice cared for their Dad during his last days and they wish to recognise the amazing work done by the staff and the Hospice.
From noon at Lowerhouse Cricket Club, enjoy an afternoon of hilarious adult comedy delivered by the very talented Gary Gobstopper and when that’s over, hit the dance floor as Electric Neon play nonstop hits from the eighties and nineties.
Your ticket price of £20 includes all fundraising activities during the afternoon except for a small auction.
Reserve your tickets now as numbers are limited. £20 includes all fundraising and a great day’s entertainment for a wonderful cause.

Friday 24th October 2025 – Quiz Night
Quizzie Rascal returns for the first scheduled quiz of Autumn/Winter.
- Doors open: 7:00pm
- Quiz starts: 8:00pm
- Max teams: 6
- Entry: £4 per person (includes supper)
- Prizes for 1st & 2nd place and entry into the £100 question
- All teams must be registered prior to the event for catering purposes — no walk-ins

The club is open for social drinks in the CEF Lounge from 1:00pm behind the partitions.
Sky Sports featured game: Man United v Brighton at 5:30pm.
There is a private birthday in the main room at 3:00pm, so partitions will remain closed until 5:00pm.
Sunday 26th October 2025 – Super Sunday
Bar open from 1:00pm featuring:
- Wolves v Burnley live on Sky at 2:00pm
- Everton v Spurs at 4:30pm
Saturday 1st November 2025 – Bonfire & Fireworks
It’s the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year! See all the details here.
There is lots to do and organise, and any assistance would be appreciated. Contact Stan or Frank to help with:
- Before the event – helping unload and accept wood
- In the days up to the bonfire – physically building it
- On the day – gate teams, stewards, bar assistance, etc.
- Sunday 2nd November – post-event clean-up

Volunteers young and old are required to assist with the massive clean-up operation after the Bonfire & Fireworks from Saturday night.
Please contact Stan to confirm your attendance in the morning.

Sunday social starts at 2:00pm in the CEF Lounge behind partitions due to a private gathering in the main room.
