Sportsmans Dinner – A Great Success!

untitled

Friday 3rd May 2013 saw the annual Lowerhouse Cricket Club Sportsman’s Dinner bring Ex Liverpool and Denmark International Mr Jan Molby to the club along with comedian Mr Lester Crabtree.

A packed club house, with over one hundred people seated, heard tales of Jan Molby’s glorious footballing career spanning fifteen years at various clubs including Ajax and Liverpool.

Jan was supported by the very funny and eccentric Lester Crabtree in what can only be described as a very successful evening.

Club Chairman Stan Heaton welcomed the guests to the event and commenced proceedings with a loyal toast to club stalwart Mr Geoff Hope, whose funeral had taken place earlier in the day.

Thanks must go out to all who attended and supported the event, which is one of the main and largest fundraising events the club host’s and, is one single event that generates major funding to help the club function and survive.

Mr Alan Suthers could not attend the evening but very kindly donated the £60 cash prize for the Name on the Envelope fundraiser.

Mr Chris Bithell won the stand-up bingo cash prize on the night and again, very kindly donated £20 back to the club, a lovely gesture.

The event has raised in excess of £1500 for club funds which is a tremendous effort and again, massive thanks to all who supported and to those who assisted in organising such a fantastic evening.
