Good Friday saw the Lowerhouse Eleven take on the Deccan Chargers in the, now annual charity match for the Brain Tumour Trust. Lowerhouse came out on top in a well fought Twenty20 against the touring side. Lowerhouse made 121/7 off their 20 with Ben Heap retiring not out on 53. Deccan Chargers made 101/5 off their 20, with 3 run outs.

On Saturday, the First Eleven lost out to Cifton in a friendly at home. In a 45 over contest, Lowerhouse won the toss and batted first. House made 158/8 with Ben again top scoring on 41 and retiring not out. In reply Clifton knocked them off with 8 balls to spare, 5 wickets down in a good run out for both clubs.

On Sunday Robson Elliotts’ Third Eleven kicked off their league campaign with a bang, defeating Great Harwood Fourth Eleven in a thrilling match. The game took place at home, where Lowerhouse won the toss and elected to bat first.

Lowerhouse got off to a solid start, with opener Aden Aurangzeb leading the way with an impressive knock of 44 runs. Chris Broom also made a valuable contribution, scoring 42 runs off just 34 balls. Despite some hiccups along the way, Lowerhouse managed to put up a respectable total of 166 for 9 off their allotted 40 overs.

In reply, Great Harwood Fourth Eleven got off to a decent start, but Lowerhouse’s bowlers had other plans. With a total of 8 bowlers being used, the team managed to bowl out Great Harwood for 142 off just 36.4 overs. Ky Mani Cain emerged as the star bowler, taking an impressive 4 for 20 off 8 overs. Jahangeer Ali Ullah Ullah also made a significant contribution, taking 3 for 39 off 8 overs.

On Sunday Lowerhouse Firsts lost out to Ribblesdale Wanderers away. Ribb posted 200/8 off their 45 with Henri Cottam and Charlie Bithell taking 3 wickets a piece. In reply, Lowerhouse were 146 all out with Ben top scoring for the 3rd time in as many games with 40.
