Third Eleven Match Report
The Third Eleven welcomed Clitheroe to Lowerhouse on a rare Sunday fixture, with the visitors ultimately proving too strong on the day.
After winning the toss, Lowerhouse elected to bat first and posted a competitive 162 for 6 from their 40 overs. The innings was anchored superbly by Lewis Clarke, who continued his fine form with a second successive half-century. Clarke showed great patience and composure at the crease, compiling 55 from 114 deliveries.
There was also an excellent contribution from Joe Masson, whose fluent 35 from 35 balls helped keep the scoreboard ticking and gave the innings valuable momentum.
Despite the solid total, Clitheroe chased confidently and reached their target with only three wickets down and five-and-a-half overs remaining.
The wickets for Lowerhouse were shared between Oliver Roberts, Robson Elliott and Sonny Whittaker, who each claimed a wicket apiece.
While the result didn’t go Lowerhouse’s way, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, particularly with the bat.
