Double Delight – Seconds Take the Title, Firsts Sweep Haslingden

Second Eleven – Champions!

The Second Eleven sealed the Junior League Division 2 title in style with a home win against East Lancs.

After winning the toss and opting to bat (despite a few rain breaks), Lowerhouse posted 203 for 9 from a rain-reduced 41 overs. A captain’s knock from Declan Stansfield – 56 from 90 balls – was the backbone of the innings.

In reply, a ruthless bowling performance saw East Lancs dismissed for 129 in just 24.5 overs, sparking title celebrations at 6pm. Oliver Williams, Yanis Chir and Shaukat Ali each claimed three wickets to complete the victory.

Well done to Declan and the lads on a dominant season from start to finish.
