East Lancs Win Keeps House Second!

A 40 run win over East Lancs keeps House in second place in the Lancashire League after a sun drenched day at West End. Fit again Ben Heap agonisingly fell 3 runs short of a maiden league century, falling for 97 after hitting eight fours and two sixes in 112 balls faced. Ben put on 85 in an opening stand with Jon Finch who scored 37 and 118 for the 2nd wicket with Hassan who also made 37 as House posted 230-5 from their 50 overs.

In reply East Lancs fell 40 runs short posting 190-5 with the pro taking all 5 wickets to fall at a cost of 58 runs. The game was actually much closer than the final scorecard suggests with John Turner hit 55 from 72 balls with five fours and a six and Erasmus making exactly 50 from 83 balls hitting three boundaries. It wasn’t until the last 2 overs that it became clear that House would win after an almost faultless performance in the field Scorecard
