First Eleven
Lowerhouse travelled to Turf Moor where the match was reduced to 26 overs per side. After winning the toss, Lowerhouse elected to bowl.
Burnley made an imposing 178 for 8 from their 26 overs, finding the boundary regularly during the opening exchanges. Sub professional Ahmed Safi was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 71 from his eight overs, while Toxy Hussain claimed 3 for 38 from seven.
In reply, Lowerhouse were 77 for 4 after 15 overs. Ben Heap (17), Jonny Whitehead, Henri Cottam and Tom Walker, who made a solid 35, had all returned to the pavilion as the visitors struggled to build momentum.
With six overs remaining, Lowerhouse were 102 for 6 after the dismissals of Shaukat Ali and Frankie Haasbroek (18). Unable to consistently find the boundary and losing wickets at regular intervals, Lowerhouse were eventually bowled out for 122 in the 24th over.
Despite the defeat, Lowerhouse remain third in the Lancashire League table, although the gap to the top two sides has widened.
Second Eleven
The Second Eleven continued their excellent season with a comfortable victory at home to Burnley.
After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, Lowerhouse dismissed Burnley for 143 in 30.3 overs. Declan Stansfield, Charlie Bithell and Oliver Williams all claimed two wickets as the home side produced another disciplined bowling performance.
Lowerhouse made light work of the chase, reaching their target in just 24.1 overs for the loss of two wickets. Keagan De Vries led the way with a blistering 52 from just 25 balls, while Declan Stansfield added 29 and Joel Sharpe finished unbeaten on 26 to see the hosts home.
The victory keeps the Second Eleven firmly in second place in the league as they continue to enjoy an outstanding campaign after promotion from Division 2.
