Help James raise money to improve disabled access at the club!

Lowerhouse junior James McGregor is raising money for improvements in disabled access to the club.

More about James quest:

If you don’t know me, I am James, aged 13 and I like to donate my spare time doing crazy things to help people less fortunate than me. For the last 5 months I have been secretly training for my biggest challenge yet…..

On the 23rd of June (my 14th Birthday) I will be running from Old Trafford Cricket Ground to Lowerhouse Cricket Ground, this will be a 45KM or 27.9-mile run (more than the London Marathon), to-date I have trained for a total of 350KM (217 miles) on completion of my run I will have clocked up more than 600KM (372 miles).

Why am I doing this I hear you ask? Lowerhouse is my cricket club and I have played there since the age of 7, the club and all the volunteers at the club have supported me so much, that I felt it was time I gave the club something back. I would love to raise enough money to improve access around the club grounds, this will improve wheelchair access and open the ground up to an even bigger community.

I appreciate that we are going through a cost-of-living crisis (my parents constantly tell me every time I ask for something) so I am not just reaching out to individuals but also businesses in the hope that I can get some local corporate sponsorships for my event.

I aim to get lots of local media coverage, and I have found a very kind company who will embroider company logos onto my running top so hopefully this will be great marketing for businesses that can support me.

If you want to follow my progress, I am on Strava, (James Mcgregor, Burnley) or even better come to Lowerhouse for the T20 on the 23rd June I hope to arrive at the ground for 6pm.

Wish me luck!
