The Burnley Civic Trust Heritage Image Collection are asking for memories of the Cowpe Shield, especially the last time it was awarded, possibly 2001, as in 2002 the amateur league folded and all the trophies went to Towneley. Did anyone play for the last Cowpe Shield winners? The magnificent Shield is on the far left of the attached photo from 1971, just in front of Lowerhouse legend Alan Holden.
