First Eleven
The First Eleven lost their opening league game at Ramsbottom today.
Ramsbottom won the toss and elected to bat at Acre Bottom.
House had the home side at 57 for 4, but a strong 141-run partnership shifted the momentum and saw Ramsbottom reach 216 for 6 from their 50 overs. Paddy Martin was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets.
In reply, House got off to a flying start, reaching 66 without loss, but that quickly became 66 for 3. Wickets then fell at regular intervals and the innings never recovered, with the side bowled out for 146. Ben Heap top scored with 39.
Second Eleven
In the Second Eleven fixture, Declan won the toss and elected to bowl in the first game of the 2026 season at The Brooks Foundation Ground.
Ramsbottom posted a competitive 172 for 7 from their 45 overs, with Oliver Williams taking two wickets.
In reply, House looked in control at 141 for 3, but a sudden collapse saw them slip to 154 for 9. A crucial last wicket partnership between Charlie Bithell and Oliver Williams turned the game, leaving 7 runs needed from the final two overs, then 5 from the last.
They held their nerve to see it home with two balls to spare, securing the first win of the season.
