Lowerhouse Claim Derby Honours Against Experienced Burnley Side

Lowerhouse Third Eleven recorded a good home victory over an older and very experienced local rival in Burnley Third Eleven today.

Burnley won the toss and elected to field, but Lowerhouse made a strong start, posting 172 for 4 from their 40 overs.

Danny Simm top-scored with an excellent 59, while Lewis Clarke added 31. Sonny Whittaker finished unbeaten on 26 to help Lowerhouse set a competitive total.

In reply, Lowerhouse bowled Burnley out for 140 in 38.1 overs to secure a 32-run victory.

Jax Edwards led the way with the ball, taking an impressive 4 for 30 from his eight overs after opening the bowling. Sonny Whittaker also enjoyed an excellent spell, finishing with 3 for 27 from 6.1 overs.

A strong all-round performance from Lowerhouse Third Eleven against an experienced Burnley side.

The Fourth Eleven lost out to Bacup at Lanehead. Bacup scored 220 for 8 off their 40 after being stuck in. Joshua Lord took 3 for 34 off 8 and Will Fellows and Hammad Aurangzeb took 2 a piece.

In reply, Lowerhouse couldn’t keep up with the rate scoring 166 for 7 off their 40. Will Fellows scored 50 not out, Seth Finch 43 and Hammad Aurangzeb 34.
