We are again saddened to announce the passing of members past and present, and long-time friends of the club.
Audrey Greenwood (97)
Our oldest member and neighbour, Audrey Greenwood, has passed away at the age of 97. Audrey’s son Phillip, now living in Devon, recently visited the club during a social event. He appears in the photograph of the victorious 1973 2nd XI cup-winning side, where a young Phillip served as our scorer. Audrey’s grandson Nick, son of her daughter Heather, was also a junior player at the club.
Funeral: — Burnley Cemetery Chapel. Refreshments to follow at Sycamore Farm.
Iris Duerden
We also remember Iris Duerden, wife of long-time member John. Both Iris and John are well known in the community, having owned the newsagents on Hordley Street for many years. We extend our sincere sympathy to John and the family.
Funeral: — Burnley Crematorium. Refreshments to follow at Lowerhouse CC.
