Sad news – Ken Price

Lowerhouse CC are sorry to announce the passing of long time supporter and former player Ken Price (pictured left in his playing days). Ken was a magnetic figure at the club with numerous friends, many of whom would visit Ken in his winter retreat in Tenerife when on holiday. Always opinionated and never far from a lively discussion, Ken will be sorely missed. Over the years Ken was generous to the club with donations both financial and physical, with a number of our benches commissioned by him. I personally will never forget his preoccupation with the outside toilets and benches, leading to the annual call at the AGM in any other business” anything on bogs and benches Ken “.
Ken took it upon himself to paint the outside toilet and kitted himself up in a painting suit that would have done justice at Chernobyl. I will particularly miss his midweek chats when he would journey over from his boat on a sunny day, replete with fish and chips and ready for a chat and a brew. Ken will be sorely missed. We extend our sympathy to sister Doreen and all Ken’s family and we are all invited to the club on April 4 to celebrate Ken’s life. The funeral service preceding the wake is at Burnley Crematorium on Monday April 4 at 10.45am
