Sad News – Kevin Bailey

Lowerhouse Cricket Club wish to express their sorrow upon hearing of the passing of former committee man, friend of the club and friend to many at the club, Kevin Bailey.

Kevin is of course the father to former players Fergus and Declan and husband to Sue. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to them and the extended family.

Kevin’s support of cricket and particular junior cricket was long lasting, beginning when the boys took the game up as pre-teens. Along with others, Kevin gave physical and financial support to Burnley Grammar School Old Boys where many of our prominent youngsters were developed and first tasted adult cricket as 11 and 12 year olds. His support for Lowerhouse continued as the boys progressed through the ranks to Lancashire League First Eleven Cricket and as they continued their careers within the Ribblesdale and Lancashire League.

Kevin’s sister and husband continue to donate to the club’s juniors and we take this opportunity to further thank them. Kevin continued to visit the club until very recently and this has come as a great shock.

Funeral arrangements will be posted in due course.

Rest in Peace, Kevin and thank you for your support and friendship.
