Sad News – Mary Webb, Barbara Blackhurst & Jean Clarke

We are again saddened to report losses to the club family.

Long-time member and neighbour Mary Webb passed away recently at a grand age. Mary was a regular supporter of fundraising efforts and a much-valued neighbour.

Barbara Blackhurst passed away a few weeks ago, and we apologise for the late reference. Barbara was the wife of former player and coach Malcolm Blackhurst. We extend our sympathies to Malcolm and to their son Ian, who we keep in touch with and who has been a recent visitor to the club this season. Malcolm is currently in the Hilton Rest Home on Quarry Street, Padiham, and visitors are welcome to pop in for a good chat.

More recently, Jean Clarke has passed away. Jean was a familiar and much-loved face at the club, working in the tea room with her husband Terry, daughter Michelle, and son-in-law Frank. Jean was great company, with a wonderful sense of humour and always willing to help. We extend our sympathies to Terry, Michelle, Frank, grandchildren Declan and Hannah, and all the family. Jean’s funeral will take place at Burnley Crematorium on January 7th at 3.15pm.

All will be sadly missed.
