Super Simm aids the win – Weekend Roundup

A Lowerhouse eleven started the weekend on Friday night with the annual charity Twenty20 at Padiham in aid of Casual Minds Matter. A lot change with Dec Metcalfe replacing Paddy Martin due to illness. House were bowled out for 86 off 16.2 overs and Padiham knocked them off 4 down off 14.1. A great sum raised for charity and thanks all that was in attendance.

The Second Eleven played Darwen on Saturday without their captain who had been promoted to the First Eleven – Kheiro Chir took the captains armband, loss the toss and was forced to field. Off their 45 overs, Darwen were 215/9 with Gulraiz Sabir and Dec Metcalfe taking 3 wickets a piece. House were bowled out for 105 off 30.4 overs in a disappointing display, Dec Metcalfe steadied the ship scoring 59.

On Sunday, the First Eleven rolled over Prestwich in the first round of the Lancashire Knockout Cup. Joey Hawke and pro Ruan steamrolled through Prestwich, after being 48/1 off 5 overs, collapsed to 79 all out. Joey took 5 for 33 off 9 overs and Ruan 3 for 14 off 7.3. Lowerhouses’ catching was fantastic, with some great grabs from skipper Ben Heap and Joe Martin behind the sticks. In reply Ruan was 40* and House knocked them off 3 down in 13.5 overs.
