Following a consultation process with the member clubs of the JW Lees Lancashire Cricket League, a clear majority of the clubs have voted to postpone the fixtures for the first two weeks of the season.
Therefore, all Senior Fixtures will be cancelled on the weekends of 13 / 14th April and 20 / 21 April 2024.
The season will now commence on Saturday 27 April 2024 for the third and fourth eleven fixtures and Sunday 28 April 2024 for the first and second eleven fixtures.
We realise that this will not suit every club, but the decision is a compromise based on the unprecedented rainfall in the past months and the poor forecast for the coming week.
The delay in starting the season will hopefully see an improvement in the weather and allow grounds personnel to work on the grounds and prepare for a late start to the 2024 season.
A further discussion will take place at the League Management Committee Meeting on Wednesday 24 April 2024 to see if dates can be rearranged to replay the fixtures.
