Weekend Roundup
For the games that were played, House had a very good weekend!
The Second team took on Haslingden at home on Saturday. House won the toss and batted first and were 30/4 early on. A bit of dig in attitude saw us make 146 off 44.4 overs after being bowled out. Joel Sharpe hit 33, Will Norcross 30 and a 25 run last wicket stand between Oliver Williams and Matt Hope. House bowled Haslingden out for 129 off 39 overs. George Durkin and Matt took 3 wickets a peice.
Back to bag “doubles” for the first team after beating Haslingden away. House batted first and lost Frankie and Ben with the scores at 0. A 93 run stand between Stephen Parry and Joe Martin steadied the innings. Stephen finished on 93 and Joe 39. House finished on 172 for 6 off their rain reduced 36 overs. Haslingden lost wickets at regular intervals, but needed 13 from the last over 8 down with 2 new batters at the crease, when the rain came. House won as Haslingden made 160/8 from their rain reduced 166 target off 35 overs.
Finals day turned out to be a wet let down with our Semi being rained off. The match and the final will be rescheduled, more details in due course…
The Fourth Eleven game on Sunday was also rained off after 14 balls were bowled at Todmorden.
