Weekend Roundup

The weekend finished on a high with the First and Second team taking league wins. 

The first team lost against Nelson on Friday night in the Twenty20, bringing a chance of progressing further to an end. Nelson got off to an absolute flyer but slowed in the last 10. They managed to get 163 for 7 from their 20. House couldn’t keep up the pace and never really got motoring and finished 106 for 9 off their 20. Full scorecard here

The Fourth team took on a Todmorden Third eleven side on Saturday. We won the toss and elected to field. Tod made 234 for 8 off their 40 overs with wickets shared. The youngsters put up a great chase making 199 for 8 off their 40. Solid 30+ knocks from Tom Yorke-Robinson, Rory Cormack, Charlie Bithell and Jack Whitham saw them just come short. The Second team built on their amazing start bowling another team out cheaply. Enfield won the toss and batted first and were bowled out for 93. A great tight opening bowling spell from Dom and Jesse saw them pegged back and Matt Hope ripped through the rest taking 7 wickets. We knocked them off 4 down with Joe Hasltead making a 44 not out. House First team beat Ramsbottom to propel up the table. Making 226 for 8 off their 50 overs after being stuck in Jonny and Ocki scored half centuries. House bowled Rammy out for 151 with Frankie taking 6 wickets. Full scorecard here
