Saturday saw the last friendly for the second team who played Greenmount at home. The match ended in a tie after Lowerhouse batted first and three of the top order retired not out (Henri Cottam 66*, Paddy Martin 34* and Dean Barlow 42*). House finished on 212 for 5 off their 40 overs. Greenmount were 8 down in reply and scored exactly the same. Skipper Matt bowled 8 bowlers, taking 3 himself. The thirds had their first game and win of the season on Saturday beating Rawtenstall away. Lowerhouse batted first and were 195 all out off 39.3 overs. Afraz Ali made 56, Aden Aurangzeb 33 and newcomer Jahangeer Ali Ullah Ullah making 27. House bowled Rawtenstall out in reply for 112, in 29 overs. Yousuf Nadeem taking 3 wickets and the rest shared.
The first and second team faced Norden (home and away respectively) on Sunday in the first Lancashire League meeting. In the first team Norden batted first and got 222/4 off their 50 overs. Pro Stephen Parry bowled tight taking 2 for 32 off his 15. House we’re looking good in reply at 137 for 4 but a collapse saw them bowled out for 177 after 45.3 overs, runs were shared.
The second team came second also in their match against Norden. House batted first making 182 for 9 off their 45 overs. Jonathan Finch top scored with 47. Norden knocked them off with an over and a half to spare, 5 down. with Finchy taking 2 wickets.
