Saturday 11th October 2025 — Lowerhouse Community Walk
Led by: Abbie
Lowerhouse Cricket Club is delighted to host our second Community Walk on Saturday 11th October, led by Abbie. This is a great chance to get out in the fresh air, stretch your legs, and explore parts of the local area you may not have seen before.
- Date: Saturday 11th October 2025
- Meet time: 11:00am
- Location: Lowerhouse Cricket Club
- What to bring: Comfortable footwear, dress for the weather, and a smile
After the walk the club opens at 1:00pm for a social with live Sky Sports in the CEF Lounge. Note: there is a private function in the main club room in the evening and partitions will be in use.

Sunday 19th October 2025 — Fundraiser for Pendleside Hospice
Sharon Stansfield and Lisa Howorth are organising a special fundraiser in memory of their Dad, to thank Pendleside Hospice for the care given. Join us from 12 noon at Lowerhouse Cricket Club for an afternoon of entertainment.
- Entertainment: Adult comedy from Gary Gobstopper, followed by live music from Electric Neon (80s & 90s)
- Ticket price: £20 (includes all fundraising activities during the afternoon except for a small auction)
- Booking: Reserve via Sharon or Lisa on Facebook Messenger

Friday 24th October 2025 — Quiz Night (Quizzie Rascal)
- Doors: 7:00pm
- Quiz starts: 8:00pm
- Max teams: 6
- Entry: £4 per person (includes supper)
- Prizes: 1st & 2nd place plus entry into the £100 question
Important: All teams must be registered prior to the event for catering purposes — no walk-ins. To book, call or message Sam on 07792 917465.

Bar opens from 1:00pm. Matches shown in the CEF Lounge:

- Everton v Spurs — 4:30pm
Saturday 1st November 2025 — Annual Bonfire & Fireworks
Our biggest fundraiser of the year returns on Saturday 1st November 2025 — don’t miss Burnley’s Best Bonfire and Fireworks.

Volunteers needed
We need lots of help to make the event a success. If you can assist in any way, please contact Stan or Frank:
- Before the event: help unloading and accepting wood
- In the days up to the bonfire: help build the bonfire
- On the night: gate teams, stewards, bar staff and general helpers
- Sunday 2nd November: clean-up operation
Sunday 2nd November 2025 — Bonfire Clean-Up & Social
Volunteers of all ages are welcome to help with the clean-up after the Bonfire & Fireworks. Please contact Stan to confirm your attendance in the morning.
The bar opens at 1:00pm for a social. Matches in the CEF Lounge include:
- West Ham v Newcastle — 2:00pm
- Man City v Bournemouth — kick-off available in the CEF Lounge (check listings)
Saturday 25th October 2025 — CEF Lounge Social
The CEF Lounge will be open for social drinks from 1:00pm (behind partitions). There is a private birthday in the main room at 3:00pm, so partitions will remain closed until 5:00pm.
