Lowerhouse CC Support Ball Tampering Allowed Trust
Lowerhouse CC are delighted to support the Ball Tampering Allowed Trust as a Charity Partner for the 2026 & 2027 seasons.The Ball Tampering Allowed Trust is a registered charity in the UK, established to raise awareness about male-related cancers, particularly testicular cancer. The charity aims to destigmatise male health conversations and promote early detection of testicular cancer. It was co-founded by cricket enthusiast Paul Ferriday and his friend Simon Burrows, who both faced personal health challenges with testicular cancer. The charity’s mission is to support community-based cancer-related causes and encourage men and boys to seek medical advice for any abnormal testicular lumps or bumps.Trustee Paul Ferriday stated, our mission is to reduce male cancer deaths in the UK, which are 40% higher overall.Cancer Research UK states men are “70% more likely to die from cancers that affect both men and women.” But there is hope, additional deaths among men could be avoided with more male-focused awareness.We aim to boost life expectancy through self-awareness and early medical intervention. We educate men and boys on taking responsibility and changing outdated behaviours of ignorance and fear.We promote testicular checks for men aged 15-35 and regular prostate checks, the leading cause of male cancer deaths in the UK.Our non-profit charity, raises awareness, supports those affected by cancer, and channels donations to related charities and worthwhile causes.
Club secretary Frank Entwistle said, “The JW Lees Lancashire Cricket League were approached by Paul during the close season, and sought support from the member clubs. We agreed have agreed to have an advertising board for the next two seasons and we hope this raises the awareness to everybody attending our grounds of the importance of self-testing, especially our younger members.Lowerhouse CC will host The Ball Tampering Allowed Trust for the T20 fixture v Enfield on Friday 5th June 2026 and fundraising on the night will be donated to this very worthwhile cause so please get the date in your diary and get down to support this very worthwhile cause”.A link to the trust website can be found at Home | Ball Tampering Allowed
