Wins versus Bacup and averages update
The First and Second XI racked up wins again against Bacup yesterday.
The Firsts playing at home had a strong 175 run win, whilst racking up the highest total of the season thus far scoring 286.

League leaders Lowerhouse stay top after a 111 run over bottom side Bacup at the Brooks Foundation Ground. Ben Heap top scored with 82 in the leaders’ 286-9 which was the highest score of the season to date. Heap hit a dozen fours and a six in his innings after openers Joe Martin (46) and Joe Halstead (41) had put on 71. Professional Dieter Klein also made 23, Paddy Martin 18 and Josh Lavin a career best unbeaten 30 at the death. Sam Lord took a career best 5-59 for Bacup. Skipper Adam Highley suffered a shoulder injury sustained when he attempted a return catch off Klein. He was taken to hospital and took no further part in the game. Klein (2-17) struck early to send back Matt Collinge (2) and Tim Farragher (9). Paddy Martin continued his outstanding start to the season with the ball, taking 4-23 to help dismiss Bacup for 111. Ben Heap also took 2-14 with Bacup professional Haseeb Azam making 27, Aaron Fielding 25 and Matt Thompson 11.
