Some performances don’t just win matches — they etch themselves into the fabric of club history.
In 2007, Jon Finch and Ryan Harris did exactly that.
Facing Rawtenstall, the pair opened the batting and produced a masterclass in control, aggression, and endurance. Finch compiled a brilliant 123, while Harris — the Australian professional and powerhouse — blasted 144.
Together, they put on a staggering 257 for the first wicket, a stand that remains Lowerhouse’s highest-ever opening partnership to this day.
Their efforts laid the foundation for a massive team total of 317, and the West Enders went on to seal a dominant 160-run victory.
It wasn’t just a record — it was a statement.
The scorecard is located here.
A day when everything clicked, and a reminder of the destructive power a strong opening pair can bring. Nearly two decades on, the Finch-Harris partnership still stands tall in the annals of Lowerhouse history.
