Junior Match Reports – 30th August 2012
LHCC U17 115-4 Colne 66-6
Dec Bailey 53* Dec Bailey 4-4
Will Norcross 20*
Joe Bayliff 18*
Danny Turner 11
The 17s showed their strength against a team with 3 first team players in it. Early season losses may well prevent any silverware for this team though they are in with a shout.
Lowerhouse u15 Sharks 173-3 Rawtenstall u15 110-8
Ben Gorton 50* Joey Stein 4-13
Tom Nicholas 50*
Jake Seddon 25
Liam Heaton 14
Joey Stein 11
A comfortable victory showing the strength in depth. Tom Nicholas scored his maiden 50 for the club. The team are in the shout for honours as they are top of the league but other clubs can catch them if they complete their fixtures.
LHCC U13 Panthers 95-6 Darwe
Ross ‘Boom Boom’ Birchall 30*
Charlie Bithell 22* Tom Bridge 2-15
Conor Juriansz 21
Having been 10 for 4, the middle order batted very well indeed to produce a competitive score, batting around opener Juriansz. The Panthers have now finished their season and will end mid table
Ramsbottom u13 (1) _ 237-4
Charlie Bithell 3-14 Geor
An excellent display with Charlie Bithell ripping into the Ramsbottom batting and Georgia Clough taking 20 off one over. The Bears are in the running for honours.
LHCC U13 Tigers 256-4
Becky Gorton 2-27
Georgia Clough 17*
The Tigers (2s) march on and will finish champions of league 2 or runners up. The jaguars (4ths) continue to develop but are likely to be bottom of the league. No shame there as they play first and second teams
Burnley u11 286-3
Caleb Greenhalgh 2-22
Burnley are a very powerful unit and this was a game played on a hitters pitch with short boundary due to ground conditions. Burnley adapted to it well and we didn’t. The team will finish mid table with consistency being a main problem. Good enough to win the cup, but too inconsistent to continue winning. Many of the side are either under ten or very late 11s and this sometimes shows in terms of concentration.
LHCC U11 Cubs 214– 3
A strangely lacklustre batting display has dented the 2s chances of silverware this season. Currently in second place, this was a defeat to the league’s bottom club
Nelson u9 227-2
Famous last words but in recent games the penny seems to have dropped that not losing wickets is the way to success. The House score was assisted by a vast number of nelson wides. Pleasingly we only bowled one.
Burnley u9 – 244-5
Burnley are current league leaders and a very powerful unit so the half time score was a pleasing one with the bowlers and fielders having done their job well. Unfortunately the batting collapsed late on and the house were well short. The game was played in front of a good crowd. The 9s will finish mid table.
