The Mullagh Medal

Scott Boland was awarded the Mullagh Medal, for his outstanding performance in the 2021 Boxing Day Test Match.  The medal was initiated in 2019 and is a belt buckle with a photo of the 1868 indigenous team which toured England, and is named for Johnny Mullagh their outstanding player. Scott Boland has indigenous ancestry, and Belinda Duarte, a director of the Melbourne Cricket Ground Trust, who presented the medal to him, is a descendant of another of the 1868 team, Yanggendyinanyuk (various spellings are given) known as “Dick-a-Dick”.
