Weekly Update
Assistance Putting the Square to Bed
As we approach the final stages of the 2026 cricket season, our thoughts are turning to the important task of putting the ground to bed for the winter.
This operation is scheduled for Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September and will make a huge difference in preparing our cricket ground for the winter months and the season ahead.
The work will include:
- Mowing, scarifying, sorrel rolling and brushing the square
- Spreading around 150 bags of loam, along with seed and fertiliser
- Watering the ground to help ensure it remains in the best possible condition
- Taking down the sightscreens and cover sheets
- Moving benches and bins, along with a number of other jobs around the ground
If anyone is available and able to commit some time on either of these days, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Stan on 07941 439741 to let him know.
