There was an excellent curtain raiser to the season when members, guests and sponsors got together for a Sportsman’s Dinner at Lowerhouse CC. With Ken Smalley acting as master of ceremonies, guest speakers for the evening were former Burnley FC player Paul Fletcher and Peter Stevenson of BBC Television in Manchester.
