Match Report: Lancashire Knock Out – Netherfield v Lowerhouse
Lowerhouse made another journey north to the Lakes on Sunday for their Lancashire Knock Out tie against Netherfield, but it was a tough afternoon as the hosts secured a comfortable win.
After Netherfield won the toss and chose to field, Lowerhouse started brightly. Ben Heap (30) and Jonny Whitehead (20) got the innings off to a flying start, racing to 49 without loss after just 5 overs. However, after Heap departed, the innings started to falter.
Tom Walker steadied the ship with a brisk 32 from as many balls, but the middle and lower order unravelled quickly. Three damaging run outs contributed to a collapse from 105 for 3 to 121 all out, with no one else reaching double figures.
In reply, Netherfield chased down the modest target with ease, reaching 122 for 3 in 22.5 overs. Lowerhouse’s bowlers kept things tight early on, with Tom Walker, Charlie Gansler, and Shaukat Ali picking up a wicket each, but it wasn’t enough to trouble the home side.
A disappointing result for House, who will now turn their attention back to league duties.
