An interview with Stan Heaton

We’ve been talking to a lot of people lately. We couldn’t miss Stan the Man out!

· When did you first start supporting the club/playing and why? – 1966 – Lived across the road, family steeped in it – seemed natural . Made debut in 1969 – pulled out of the local park to play to save the 2s getting a fine
· What was your favourite Lowerhouse game you have witnessed? – 2004 cup final for all the obvious reasons
· What has been your favourite thing to happen at the club (non cricket!)- Matt Hope’s work on the clubroom – a massive turning point and didn’t Matt do a good job – we can be proud of that place . The nets are a very close second .
· What are your hopes for Lowerhouse for the future? – Renovations to the changing rooms and on the field to continue to raise the bar to ensure we keep the good times rolling . Success is usually cyclical so if that’s the case we can expect another 137 years before depressing times return . On a serious note we must all continue to work hard for the club and to get more parents involved.
· Do you have any pre game rituals? – Made sure that I arrived early to prepare methodically – routine = preparation = readiness
· What do you do to keep yourself busy in the winter? – Golf holidays, Burnley FC and off field jobs at LHCC until Christmas and then add Winter coaching
· How will we do this season? – We will be challenging on all fronts I think but we have to start keen and go at the season hard
