Nick Howarth Tribute & Reunion Day Arranged
At the start of the 2026 cricket season, we shared the sad news of the passing of Nick Howarth, affectionately known to many as “Brown Bottle”.
We wanted to let everyone know that a tribute and reunion day has now been arranged, giving friends, former teammates and sporting colleagues the opportunity to come together to remember Nick and celebrate his life.
Event Details
- Date: Sunday 26th July 2026
- Venue: Burnley Cricket Club
- Occasion: Lowerhouse Cricket Club’s derby fixture away at Burnley CC
- Match Starts: 12.30pm
Everyone is welcome to arrive from midday onwards and spend the day catching up with old friends, sharing a drink or two and reminiscing about the good times. There will no doubt be plenty of stories and memories of Nick to share throughout the afternoon.
The event has been organised by Chris Wright in conjunction with Burnley Cricket Club, and we’re grateful to everyone involved in making it happen.
Food & Refreshments
Pie and peas will be served at approximately 3.00pm.
The cost is expected to be around £5 per person, payable on the day, with cash preferred.
The bar will, of course, be open throughout the day.

Partners are very welcome to attend, and the organisers would love to see as many familiar faces as possible.
